Leslie Martinez

Leslie Martínez is a renowned Health Content Expert with extensive experience of more than 25 years dedicated to improving migrants in the United States. His outstanding work includes important roles played in representations of the Mexican government abroad, such as the Mexican Embassy in the United States, the Mexican Embassy in Spain, the Mexican Consulate in Orlando and the Consulate General of Mexico in New York. During her time as Consul of Community Affairs at the Mexican Consulate in Orlando, Leslie played a fundamental role in 

forming a bridge with Latino Community of Central and North Florida. She implemented significant projects, such as the opening of the Health Window or Ventanilla de Salud at the Consulate. In her role as National Coordinator of the Health Window at the Consulate General of Mexico in New York, Leslie provided support in planning, logistics and training projects for a network of 51 Health Windows in the United States. Her knowledge and experience in Latino health were instrumental in strengthening the training of health promoters on crucial topics such as COVID-19, nutrition, cancer, dementia, mental health and more. Currently, as Compassion & Choices’ Latino Engagement Manager, Leslie continues to influence her experience as a Health Content Expert to expand knowledge about end-of-life decisions, palliative care and hospice in Latino communities. Her main objective is to empower the Latino population in their end-of-life decisions and work to eliminate the disparities that exist compared to other populations. Throughout her career, Leslie has actively participated in conferences, webinars, radio shows, talks, and trainings with organizations across the country. Her academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of the Americas in Mexico City and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Communications from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Additionally, she has completed numerous courses and diplomas in various topics, including Community Affairs, Events and Latino Health, including training in mental health, nutrition, dementia, COVID-19 and vaccination.
