Alma García

Alma García is a certified promotora of the Planned Parenthood Los Angeles program since 2002. She has had the opportunity to work with different organizations and receive training on different issues related to women’s welfare and advocacy. She is Community Outreach Coordinator for the Community Engagement program at the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute. In her role as a community outreach coordinator, Alma works directly with Latinx communities surrounding USC and CHLA, facilitating a variety of educational workshops. She provides resources to empower underserved communities to be more conscious of their health. Her educational workshops help to remove the barriers that many communities face in deciding whether to participate in a research study by promoting health and scientific literacy among Latino communities.
