Loss of Memory, Dementia and Alzheimer’s: Resources for the Latino Community
According to Facts and Data About Alzheimer’s Disease 2010, the risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease among US Hispanics is 1.5 times greater than in Non-Hispanic Whites. Alzheimer’s is the costliest disease in the United States.
OBJECTIVES:
- Learn about the relationshp between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
- Describe how Alzheimer’s affects the brain how to detect it, causes, risk factors, stages, and treatment options.
- Learn about resources for the Latino community that the Association offers, as well as about clinical trials and FDA-approved medications to treat some symptoms.
