When Love Changes to a Pitbull or to a Cobra

When Love Changes to a Pitbull or to a Cobra

Promotores in their home visits and in the organizations where they work can be the necessary alert from the knowledge they possess. This workshop has the objective of understanding behavior that an abuser has from two typologies—pitbull and cobra—which Jacobson and Gottman proposed in 1995.

Objectives

  • Know the psychosocial characteristics of who is a domestic or partner abuser and how a promotor can identify it.
  • Identify the differences between the abusive pitbull and the cobra so that the community health worker can provide assistance and generate alerts to prevent future damage.
  • Identify various scenarios in which they could provide information about intimate partner violence.
