Promotores/CHWs: A Pathway to Provide Services to Medi-Cal Members
This workshop will provide an introduction to the CHW benefit and information on promotores’ pathway to providing services for Medi-Cal beneficiaries. Promotores will learn how to navigate the managed care system and learn how to find resources to support social needs of members including CalAIM. The workshop will include an interactive dialogue, presentation, and a demonstration where promotores will use tablets to learn how to navigate an online community resource tool.
Objectives
- Describe the pathway to be able to deliver the CHW benefit to Medi-Cal beneficiaries.
- Identify resources for Medi-Cal beneficiaries that address the social determinants of health including housing, food, and personal care.
- Demonstrate how to navigate an online community resource tool.
