Biography
Ms. Rodríguez has over 25 years of experience as a nurse, certified diabetes educator, and bicultural specialist in health communication strategies. She retired in 2025 as a senior advisor at the CDC, after more than two decades of service in the Division of Diabetes Translation. She holds a Master’s degree in Nursing with an emphasis on advanced clinical practice and specializations in education and administration. Throughout her career, she has led multiple diabetes education initiatives and worked extensively with health promotoras and diabetes education specialists. She was part of the working group that developed the systematic reviews for the CDC Community Guide, evaluating the role of health promotoras in the prevention and control of chronic diseases. She is the author of educational resources, including the Spanish curriculum Prevent T2 from the CDC’s National Diabetes Prevention Program.
