Prepare for Disasters in Five Steps
In this workshop, promotoras and promotores will engage in an interactive session designed to empower vulnerable California communities with accessible and relevant information about preparing for disasters such as earthquakes, fires, floods, and power outages. Through practical activities, cultural resources, and essential tools, participants will learn how to develop an emergency plan, pack a supply kit, and act quickly and safely in any emergency situation.
- Identify disasters such as earthquakes, wildfires, floods, and power outages and understand their potential impacts on daily life.
- Learn and apply the five essential steps for being prepared. Adopt concrete actions such as activating seismic alerts, creating a family emergency plan, preparing a supply kit, and understanding environmental risks.
