Biography
Laura Karina Jaramillo serves as Manager of Environmental Health at Visión y Compromiso, where she directs environmental health initiatives throughout California. In this role, she collaborates with promotoras, Community Health Workers, community organizations, and public agencies to address environmental and health inequities in underserved communities. Her work is guided by a deep commitment to equity, cultural humility, and the belief that meaningful change begins at the community level. Laura holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish from California State University, Bakersfield. Her academic research has focused on public trust, community assessment, and equitable access to services, with projects including a program evaluation for the McFarland Police Department and a fiscal analysis of the Kern County Library System.
