Cannabis and Community Health
In this workshop, promotoras and promotores will learn about the basics of the endocannabinoid system and its role in regulating other bodily systems, as well as learn the basics of the cannabis plant’s two main therapeutic components, cannabinoids and terpenes. This will be followed by a brief exploration of cannabis’ history and relevance to the Latino community, specifically in the U.S as well as an exploration of both past and current perceptions related to cannabis use.
- Identify the body’s endocannabinoid system and two components of cannabis that act on it.
- Identify two cultural barriers in your communities that affect stigma toward cannabis patients.
- Learn at least two primary resources for evidence-based cannabis education.
