Wendy Pech

Wendy Pech, originally from Mérida (Yucatán, Mexico), is a health promotora who has served the Los Angeles community since 2010. At the beginning of her career, Wendy used to share health information while pushing her youngest daughter in a stroller. Through her collaboration with the Office of Community Engagement and Outreach at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, she has increased access to education and cancer awareness in Los Angeles County. Her work has focused on the prevention and early detection of various types of cancer, including skin, breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer. Additionally, she has trained more than 30 health promotores, strengthening community capacity. Wendy has received multiple recognitions from Los Angeles County for her work, and she is currently involved in USC’s REEL Health project, focused on colorectal cancer prevention.
