Biography

Erica Ruvalcaba brings over 20 years of experience working with various marginalized communities on the Central Coast. Her passion has always been to provide access and opportunities that enable all individuals to live healthier and more fulfilling lives. She founded her own nonprofit organization, Corazón Latino, to address these needs. Erica is passionate about mental health and has created emotional support groups throughout the county to reach the most vulnerable populations with relevant mental health resources. Additionally, she is one of the few certified eCPR trainers in Spanish in the state of California. She holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne, a Single Subject Teaching Credential from Chapman University, a Master’s Degree, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from UCSB. Erica is also a university Spanish instructor at Allan Hancock Community College.
