Debbie Shrem

Debbie Shrem is a Health Educator in the Division of Occupational Health at the California Department of Public Health. She leads communication and education efforts to protect workers from extreme heat. Debbie develops practical, worker-centered materials—including presentations, videos, social media content, newsletters, and website resources—for agencies and organizations that support the workers most affected by heat. She also strengthens state-level preparedness and response by sharing best practices, coordinating with local partners, and promoting prevention strategies that elevate workers’ needs and voices.
