Well-being in the Digital Age: A Workshop to Create Healthy Online Content

We live in a digital world that consumes not only our time but also our mental and emotional state. Are social networks and electronic gadgets really the cause of our high anxiety levels, stress, and depression? And if so, how do we fight them? On the other hand, has technology improved our lives by allowing us to communicate with our loved ones who live far away and do social networks serve as platforms to express ourselves? This will be an interactive workshop based on dialogue and will end with promotores participating in a video of positive advice that they can share in their platforms and their communities.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Reflect about the positive and negative impact that technology has in our lives through an examination of statistics and tendencies of digital media use today.
  2. Discuss ways digital media and social networks affect our emotional well-being and mental state.
  3. Participate as the protagonists in a digital video that delivers advice and tips regarding a healthy media diet.
