Educating Through Laughter and Drama: Commuity Theater as a Tool for Community Education

In this workshop, promotoras and promotores will discover how el Teatro Campesino can become a powerful tool for community education, without needing acting or dramaturgy experience. Using real examples about health and pesticides, we will explore how to transform local stories and challenges into brief, participatory, and culturally relevant scenes. Participants will also learn simple digital tools, including artificial intelligence, and will put what they learn into practice by creating a short scene at the end of the workshop.

• Identify the basic elements of teatro campesino and its use as a tool for community education and collective reflection.
• Analyze how community stories, experiences, and challenges can be transformed into culturally relevant educational scenes, using community creativity.
• Create a short teatro campesino scene using community creativity and simple digital tools to communicate a health message.
