Cell Phones as Tools of Power: Google Sheets and Google Docs for Promotoras and Community Health Workers*
Promotoras use their cell phones every day, but many have not received training to turn them into professional tools. This workshop will help promotoras and promotores document their work more effectively, save time, organize information, and communicate without depending on computers. Additionally, it will strengthen essential technology skills to navigate the Internet and use digital tools. It includes demonstrations, guided practice, and templates. Participants will learn to use Google Docs and Sheets from their phones, collaborate with their teams, and protect their information.
- Be able to create, edit, and share documents and spreadsheets in Google Docs and Google Sheets using only your cell phone.
- Identify at least three essential tasks you can do from your phone to support your work as promotoras/CHWs, such as lists.
- Apply basic organization and digital security practices to protect sensitive information and collaborate effectively with your teams.
