Promotores as Advocates for Change
At this workshop we will share the experience of advocates’ efforts to support health care-based voter registration. Attendees will learn how promotores can educate their communities about the importance of voting while still providing their routine care, making the connection between civic engagement and health.
Objectives
- Understand the impact of civic engagement on health outcomes.
- Explain how they can be impactful in using the social determinants of health as background to help individuals and families.
- Identify how to use Vot-ER tools to support patients in their efforts to register to vote.
