Biography

Brenda has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). Most recently, she received her Master’s degree in Public Health, specifically in environmental health, from Texas A&M University. Currently, she has been working as a program assistant for the Texas A&M University National Promotor Training Center for 2 years. It was there that she developed knowledge of promotores/as and became certified as a promotora and the instructor for the Center’s Promoter Instructors online course. She has served as a presenter at the American Public Health Association (APHA) national conference, where she presented on maternal health-related tobacco cessation.
