Loss of Memory, Dementia and Alzheimer’s: Resources for the Latino Community

According to Facts and Data About Alzheimer’s Disease 2010, the risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease among US Hispanics is 1.5 times greater than in Non-Hispanic Whites. Alzheimer’s is the costliest disease in the United States.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Learn about the relationshp between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
  2. Describe how Alzheimer’s affects the brain how to detect it, causes, risk factors, stages, and treatment options.
  3. Learn about resources for the Latino community that the Association offers, as well as about clinical trials and FDA-approved medications to treat some symptoms.
